Serving Gauvansh with Compassion
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands—an unique archipelago located far in the middle of the ocean on the map of India—rely entirely on the mainland for most of their essential needs.
Historically, during the colonial era and subsequent rehabilitation programs, cattle were brought here from the mainland to support agriculture and animal husbandry. For decades, this livestock served as the backbone of local agriculture, the rural economy, and daily life across the islands.
However, with changing economic dynamics, urbanization, and a decline in traditional farming, the same Gauvansh population now finds itself abandoned, destitute, and vulnerable to road accidents.
To address this issue permanently and restore dignity to Gau protection, Gau Seva Parishad, Andaman and Nicobar Islands was established.
